Celia Sanchez

Most people know Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, but few have heard of Celia Sanchez, the woman at the heart of the Cuban Revolution, even rumors say she was the main decision maker. After the March 10, 1952 coup, Celia joined the fight against the government of Fulgencio Batista. She was one of the founders of the July 26th Movement, was leader of the combat squads throughout the revolution, controlled the group's resources and even organized the landing of Granma, which transported 82 combatants Mexico to Cuba, to overthrow Batista. After the revolution, Celia continued with Castro until his death.
