Asmaa Mahfouz Asmaa Mahfouz is a modern revolutionary, who is credited with igniting the January 2011 uprising in Egypt, via a video posted on the internet, encouraging others to join her in the protests in Tahrir Square. She is considered one of the leaders of the Egyptian Revolution and a prominent member of the Egyptian Revolution Youth Coalition.
